Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Acupuncture is a healing practice from Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses very thin, sterile needles placed at specific points on the body. These points help stimulate your body’s natural ability to restore balance, improve circulation, and reduce pain.
Many people use acupuncture for pain relief (like back, neck, or joint pain), headaches, stress, digestive issues, women’s health concerns, allergies, and overall wellness. It can also complement other medical treatments.
Most people feel little to no pain. You may feel a light pinch or a dull, warm sensation when the needle is inserted, but many patients find treatments relaxing and even fall asleep.
It depends on your condition, overall health, and how your body responds. Some people feel better after just 1–2 sessions for more acute pain, while others benefit most from a series of treatments (6-12 sessions). We’ll discuss a plan that fits your needs.
Acupuncture is a gradual process, not a quick fix. While some people feel better after one session, most conditions (especially chronic ones) need multiple treatments for lasting results. Each session builds on the last, helping your body rebalance, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation. Your acupuncturist will recommend a personalized plan, often 6–12 sessions, and adjust it as needed for the best outcome.
We’ll start with a conversation about your health history, concerns, and goals. You’ll then relax on a treatment table while we place the needles. A typical session lasts 45–60 minutes.
Before: Eat a light meal and wear comfortable clothing.
After: Drink water, rest if possible, and avoid strenuous activity for a few hours to let your body process the treatment.
Side effects are uncommon and mild—possible temporary soreness, light bruising, or feeling deeply relaxed after a session. Most people leave feeling refreshed and calm.
Look for someone who is licensed in your state and has completed accredited training. Experience with your specific health concerns is also a plus.
At this time, we do not. We are cash-based and accept a majority of credit cards, check, and cash.
